Don't be fooled by so-called, "Brake Specialists" that offer extremely low prices to replace your brakes. First, you get what you pay for, and second you will almost never get just your brake pads and or rotors  turned or replaced. There will almost always be more work to do that will drive the cost of your brake repair up higher than promised.

When we do a brake job on American and Japanese cars it is almost always only a  brake pad replacement with resurfacing of rotors or discs or drums. The second most common problem is that the brake rotors, or discs, or drums also need to be replaced because of failure to replace the pads before they got down to metal on metal with the rotors or discs or drums. Very seldom does any other work need to be done!

European cars are different. They almost always require brake pads, and rotors or discs to be replaced every time a brake job is done.

Take my challenge and call a Dealership and another independent repair shop, they will both tell you the same thing. Brake specialist type shops hope that once your car is at their shop you will not pull your car out because it “requires” more work than the “low ball” price allows.
